Caries

Cavities are a condition that occurs due to improper oral hygiene. If plaque is not removed from the teeth, bacteria collect there and after a while begin to demineralize the enamel of the tooth. If it is intervened in time without passing into the dentin, it will be removed very painlessly, but if it passes into the dentin and then into the pulp, i.e. the nerve, the tooth begins to have constant pain and the tooth must be treated endodontically. The priority is to treat the tooth quickly and effectively, if you have been diagnosed with a carious condition. At Dentoria, it is always our first priority to remove the caries early and correctly, in order to preserve the optimal health of your teeth in the long term. The filling prevents the caries from growing and spreading in the mouth, endangering healthy teeth. The most common consequence of caries that is not treated in a timely and correct manner is the loss of the nerve from the tooth, i.e. endodontics. At Dentoria, we use nano-composite fillings, which represent the most sophisticated and modern solution that is both functional and aesthetic. We do not only use fillings as a tool for correcting cavities or replacing old fillings, we also use them to repair broken or cracked teeth, to close spaces such as separated teeth (diastema mediana) and to reshape hypoplastic (small) teeth. We work with minimally invasive methods, offering painless treatments.

Always remember, prevention is the best medicine. Invest in yourself and your dental health every day by brushing your teeth properly twice a day (with fluoride toothpaste), flossing daily, eating a balanced diet, and visiting your dentist regularly. You will significantly reduce your risk of cavities and other dental diseases, and thus save yourself both time and money.

Composite Seals

Composite fillings are a replacement for the area where the carious zone has appeared (and been removed). After the caries has been removed, the space is filled with a composite filling that is the same color/shade as the tooth and is modeled according to the morphology and anatomy of the tooth. At the end of the procedure, the composite is polished, in order to obtain the most natural and aesthetic design of the patient's smile.

Why are composite fillings placed and what is their function?

The main goal is for the fillings to be in the shape of natural teeth (both in shape and color), without visible borders or a connection to the natural tooth. The goal is for the filling to not be visible, and for the person to not be able to distinguish the filling from their own tooth.

Are aesthetic fillings durable?

Despite the belief that metal (amalgam) fillings are more durable and functional, the material content of composite fillings is reinforced with a chemical bond that is very strong and allows for excellent bonding/bonding to the tooth, which extends the life of the tooth.

Do aesthetic fillings have a lifespan?

With your routine check-up at Dentoria every 6 months, aesthetic fillings can be easily restored by polishing. By using composite fillings, the lifespan of teeth is increased. Also, oral hygiene and the patient's habits are of particular importance. Some patients have the habit of biting plastic spoons, opening bottles with their teeth, which reduces the durability of composite fillings such as tooth enamel, which is very hard (and ranks 7th in the world in terms of composite hardness). Composite fillings, in the same way, are quite strong and maintain their shape and strength if properly maintained with oral hygiene and regular check-ups at Dentoria.

The Dentoria team is always available to assist you in choosing fillings/composite fillings.

Is it necessary to change aesthetic fillings over time?

No. As long as teeth are routinely cared for, it is not necessary to replace a composite filling unless tooth decay is detected.

How durable are aesthetic fillings, do they protect teeth?

Given that modern composite fillings are very close to the strength of our natural teeth and chemically bond to the teeth, with an aesthetic filling the tooth is more protected from possible breakage.

Can I replace my black (amalgam) fillings with aesthetic fillings?

You can replace your amalgam fillings with aesthetic fillings in one session.
