Effective solution when fixed prostheses cannot be applied

What are Partial Dentures?

Key Information

Partial dentures get support from teeth with the help of a hook. Though they are very tight at the beginning when they are placed and taken out, in time they can be placed and taken out easily.

This type of dentures have metal parts that pass under the tongue in lower jaw and from palate in the upper jaw. Existence of these parts in the prosthesis makes it more durable but sometimes may disturb the patient.

Advantages

Easy Function

Cutting, biting and grinding functions can be easily performed

Stable Retention

Hooks prevent dentures from getting out of place

Repairable

Base parts and teeth can be easily repaired when needed

Important Note:

At the parts where partial dentures get support from the teeth, there are hooks. As the hooks have metal color, when they are placed on the front teeth, it might be aesthetically disturbing.

Special Conditions

Dry Mouth

Can be applied but recovery may take longer. May require special gels for mouth dryness

Bone Loss

Bone mass is important. Success depends on solidness and dimensions of existing teeth

Allergies

Allergy testing required. Metal allergies can be addressed with different materials

Alternative: Precision Attachment Partial Dentures offer a more aesthetic solution without visible hooks.
